Trend I Want To Try: Faded Tresses

When it comes to changing my hair, the only thing I have done is dying it dark brown...which was not my best choice in color. However, I keep seeing celebrities with faded hair color, and I love it! I really want to try it, but I am a little bit nervous! There is a thin line between achieving this look and just looking like you have been slacking on your highlights! Let me know what you think!
Whitney Port - genius!

Always perfect.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! I'm celebrating Christmas a little bit different this. Rather than making an extensive list of makeup, shoes, and clothing, I simply asked for my parents to donate some money to my savings account. Since starting my babysitting job in September, I have saved over $1,600 for my big move to New York City in May (crossing my fingers for a job by then). Although I am going to miss having a bunch of new clothes to wear after the new year, I know what it will take to get where I want to be! I am beyond grateful for the blessing I already have: my family, my friends, and my sweet yorkie Betsey.
I guess my parents did feel bad not having any presents under the tree for me though, so they bought me the Alexander McQueen "Savage Beauty" book! The perfect addition to my fashion book collection :)

Merry Christmas from Betsey and I

Essie Luxeffects: perfect sparkle for the new year

There is nothing I love more than a new nail polish collection! Essie Luxeffects has been all over my favorite magazines, but seem to always be sold out when I go to purchase them. I went back to Virginia Beach to visit my parents for break, and my treasured Ulta store had the entire collection in stock! Talk about a Christmas miracle! I couldn't resist myself...despite dirty looks from Ulta customers and having to hide form the Ulta staff, I tested each shade! They are fabulous! The texture and consistency is perfect, they are a little bit on the thicker side, but that is necessary for a shimmery top coat. They are all sheer, but I am sure if you loaded on four of five coats you could get a more opaque shimmer. Here are the shades!
"Shine of the Time" - Not my favorite. It is a little hieroglyphicy, and reminds me of a reptiles skin. I put all of my shades on top of a black coat, but I think this polish would look a lot better on a lighter color.

"Set in Stones" - Super chunky flecks of silver glitter.

"As Gold As It Gets" - LOVE this. Super multidimensional, a sheer gold shimmer. It is a LOT less gold in real life.

"A Cut Above" - Chunky pink glitter, looks great on black!

"Pure Pearlfection" - My absolute favorite. This is a gorgeous pearly topcoat, it's super subtle.

Nicki Minaj & O.P.I.

So I can't say I have been this excited about a new O.P.I. collection in a loooong time. I am a huge fan of O.P.I. polishes, but have gotten a little disappointed with recent collections in that they look the exact same as some of my other O.P.I. shades, just with a different name! As much as I love their creative and witty names, I don't like having two similar shades. That being said, I am completely thrilled about the Nicki Minaj collection available in 2012! The solids are just as fabulous as the glitters!

"Metallic 4 Life"

"Fly"

"Did It On 'Em"

"Super Bass Shatter" - I'm kind of over the shatter, but this is a promising color!

"Save Me" - The reason I will be waiting in line outside Ulta when this collection is released! Glitters always go first!

"Pink Friday"

I'll keep you posted on the official release date! So excited!

Jeffrey Campbell obsession

I am attracted to strange and unexpected beauty and fashion. Last year I made my first Jeffrey Campbell spotting, and I have been obsessed since. The are so bad ass and fabulous! While working at my internship in New York City over the summer, I rewarded myself with the classic black leather Lita. Seriously the MOST comfortable and wearable shoe I have ever bought. Don't let their height scare you, they are super easy to walk in are the perfect touch to any outfit! Each Jeffrey Campbell shoe is a stylish piece of art, and truly a statement! Clearly I am a big fan. ;)
Oh yes he did.....shag

Can't go wrong with the basic black :)

And the flats are just as cute!

One day....

Don't fall for the impostors! Definitely worth the splurge!!

New Year's Eve

I just purchased my ticket for New Year's Eve in Washington, D.C.! I couldn't be more excited to ring in the new year with my best friends and, of course, find the perfect outfit to start 2012 with. I prefer to avoid the ever-so-typical sequin dress, but I know I am going to want something flashy...but classy.

"I'm new to this..."

In a constant search for inspiration, I felt it necessary to create some sort of outlet for my discoveries. Whether those discoveries be through words, pictures, or physical things, I want to share the thoughts that create my world. I am certainly no blogging expert, but can't wait to open my mind!
